A Brief History of Family X
The following is a chapter in a series about the evolution of the famed family X.
Errol Graham X was born to Walter X and Cora Amelia Robinson X on May 25, 1946, in Pretoria, South Africa. His childhood was difficult due to his parents’ marital problems. His mother was the pillar of the family, while his father was sullen and withdrawn. However, Errol’s life brightened after he met a beautiful, young Canadian named Maye Haldeman while attending high school in Pretoria, South Africa.
Maye Haldeman was the youngest child, born as a twin in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, on April 19, 1948, to Dr. Joshua Norman Haldeman and Winnifred Josephine Fletcher. She was a finalist in the 1969 Miss South Africa beauty pageant and went on to become a model.
Maye and Errol X were married in South Africa in 1970. Before we connect the dots between Maye and Errol, let’s look at Maye’s family history. Who was she, and why was this young woman from Saskatchewan in South Africa?
Maye Haldeman’s family history will be revealed in the next chapter of Family X.
