The current administration preaches the gospel of isolationism and placing America’s self-serving short-term interests above all else. It is an inward-leaning nationalism that downplays alliances and global norms in favor of short-term U.S. advantage. It favors flashy short-term bilateral deals over stable, long-term multilateral commitments.

This premise seems very simple and accurate. How did we move away from facts and sanity heavily towards fiction and insanity? I think at least in part it’s by oversimplification of more complex situations by a segment of the news media and one major political party. We have empowered a lot of morons and racists into thinking that they are indeed multidisciplinary “experts”. Years ago, most people had a lot of knowledge in their vocation, but would say “I’m leaving that decision to an expert in that particular field” and didn’t mind admitting they didn’t know everything. Now, with donOLD tRUMP as their cult leader, they largely think that they are much more informed and knowledgeable than they really are!
