Sometimes it’s hard to be a Republican
Giving all your love to just one man
You have bad times, and you have good times
Doing things that you don’t understand
But if you love him, you’ll forgive him
Even though he’s hard to understand
And if you love him, oh, be proud of him
‘Cause after all, he’s just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man
The song was sung by Tammy Wynette (with one word change)

The TACO man circles the Midwest in one of his jets, reassuring those who still call themselves Republicans that he is deciding what’s best for them. The Lincoln Project provides us with a very small list of the lies he tells them to convince them to STAND BY HIM:
- He has not made trade deals with “200 countries,” partly because there aren’t that many countries on the planet. But mostly because he’s full of sh*t.
- His missile strikes did not “obliterate” Iran’s nuclear sites. And yes, there are pictures to prove it.
- The war in Ukraine was not “ended on day one.” And no, he was not “being sarcastic” when he said that. That’s why he publicly pledged 53 times.
- Grocery prices are not “way down.” In fact, they’re up.
- Medicaid is not protected (just look at his Murder Bill for this one).
- The wall is not completed. In fact, it’s not even halfway done. And Mexico is not paying for it.
- His first full month back in office did not have the lowest number of illegal border crossings in American history. Has he ever read a history book?
- His military parade did not have 250,000 attendees. We’re not even sure it had 10,000.
- He did not successfully negotiate a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. And if he did, it only lasted two hours.
- His approval rating is not “higher than any president at this point.” It’s at 37% in July 2025.
What does history tell those who will listen?
