I continue to be puzzled by America’s collective failure to uphold the values embedded in our Constitution. Virtually all Americans once believed in the rule of law, the separation of powers, the separation of church and state, and other foundational assumptions. This post introduces the fundamental question: “Why and how are we destroying ourselves?” and “Why are millions of Americans allowing themselves to be controlled by those whose interests are different than their own?”
It is common for American citizens to escape their responsibilities as participants in the world’s first large-scale democracy. As the following video discusses, this is not surprising. Modern life is complicated, and most Americans are busy with their everyday lives. This video attempts to be politically neutral because it would only fan the flames of the current culture war by playing the blame game. In fact, virtually every group across the political spectrum created our cancerous political system, so there is plenty of blame to go around.
