The following is a continuation of an earlier video on the demise of the KKK in Indiana in the 1920s. This one focuses on the trial but leaves out many details. Essentially, Madge Oberholtzer was a very decent, independent-spirited young woman whose life was cut short by the actions of the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan of Indiana. I left out the barbaric circumstances of Madge’s death, but I can assure you that the very popular and politically connected Grand Dragon was a very disturbed man.
The video references two great books that I recommend you read if you are interested. There were many twists and turns to this saga.
The white elephant in the room concerns the ongoing and apparent acceptance of moral depravity in 2025. Don’t we learn from the past? Why can’t we improve ourselves and our culture? Why do we continue to allow wealthy, well-connected men to abuse women?
