Ostensively, Elon Musk purchased Twitter because he thought it was silencing the voices of his right-wing causes. Elon said he believed in “radical free speech,” meaning no voice should be silenced. He noted that Twitter management and the Deep State were violating the sacred American tenet of free speech. He apparently had already sided with Donald Trump’s political aspirations because one of Musk’s first actions was to restore Trump’s Twitter account. Trump’s account was inactivated after his comments in support of the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. To rectify Twitter’s sins, he bought the company in October 2022.
Today, 17 months later, Twitter, now X, must be a shining example of the freedom of speech. On April 25, 2022, Musk told us what free speech means. After all of Elon’s talk about immoral content moderation, what is the record for X? Fortune Magazine reports that account suspensions have TRIPLED since Elon bought Twitter. Rick Wilson, a conservative Republican who has steadfastly disagreed with Trump’s takeover of the Republican Party, had his account suspended for having the temerity to call for the demise of Tesla. Wilson’s message on his X account before it was suspended was “Kill Tesla, Save The Country.”

This proves beyond a doubt that Musk and MAGA World do not practice what they preach. It is okay for MAGA goons to storm the Capitol and injure Capitol police officers, but it is not OK to declare, as Rick Wilson did that Tesla is a bank for goose-stepping hedge fund oligarchs.
