Are you rich, but hit rush hour traffic? No problem. Soon, you will be able to turn into George Jetson and fly over the hoi polloi.
A start-up in San Mateo County, California, has produced a prototype flying car. Alef Aeronautics recently received FAA approval to test its flying electric vehicle. It is more like a large drone shaped like the Batmobile.

They are now taking pre-orders for these $300,000 flying cars, which they hope to put into production within about a year. It will feature vertical takeoff and landing capability, as well as regular driving capability. It is also all electric. The company asserts that it will use less energy per trip than a Tesla.
The firm is testing the car, which was displayed at the local Dream Machines show in Half Moon Bay in April.

Is this too good to be true? Perhaps. There are a few drawbacks. One issue is speed. The Alef Model A is a low-speed vehicle (LSV) because it is capable of traveling at a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour. Are you ready to get on their pre-order list?
